Discover Our Family Friendly Island Beaches

family friendly beaches of NC

NC’s Brunswick Islands are a group of barrier islands separated from the mainland by the Intra-Coastal Waterway. Sunset Beach, Ocean Isle Beach, Holden Beach, Oak Island, Caswell Beach and Bald Head Island all lie in the northernmost sub-tropical region on the East Coast.

This is the closest place vacationers from the North can easily drive to for the experience of an island getaway surrounded by palm trees, banana trees and other exotic topical plants.

Put this climate together with wide, sandy island beaches and you have a little taste of paradise a little closer to home!

With gentle breezes, white sugar sand beaches and blue-green waters lapping at the shores, each island has its own distinct personality.

With all these great beaches, historic places, shopping, dining and over three dozen of Coastal Carolina’s best golf courses the towns of North Carolina’s Brunswick Islands make up one of the best places in the world to visit and live.

Located along the southern coast of North Carolina midway between Wilmington, N.C. and Myrtle Beach, S.C., the Brunswick Islands are located to the south of every major city in S.C. except for Myrtle Beach and Charleston!

This region is the northern-most subtropical climate on the East Coast! A place where palm trees, banana trees and other warm climate plants thrive. The climate is ideal for year-round golf and tennis and beach vacation relaxation!

The area boasts over three dozen of the Carolina Coast’s most requested courses. Add in the courses in nearby Myrtle Beach and you have a choice of over one hundred exceptional courses to choose from! The historic town of Southport offers a step back in time with beautiful homes, waterfront parks and antiques shops. The town of Shallotte is centrally located to all the beaches and offers great shopping and dining. The Town of Calabash, on the South end of the area, is known as “The Seafood Capitol of the World”.
