Local Writer/Artist Featured!

Local writer and artist Miller Pope has been busy writing and illustrating eight books over the last several years including a series of pirate books, local history books, a book on illustration techniques as well as a memoir entitled “Confessions of a Mad Man”.

Golf Tournament Big Success!

2010 Tee Party Golf Tournament

Another busy golf season wrapped up in November with The 23rd International Tee Party Tournament. The Winds Resort hosted 60 players from both sides of the Atlantic for a week of golf and special activities.

The Americans took home the cup again this year but our British friends have already made reservations for Oct. 29, through Nov. 5, 2011, to attempt to take the cup across the Atlantic!

Participants played Sandpiper Bay and Tiger’s Eye courses in Sunset Beach, NC, Then had a day off at leisure? where some took advantage of the optional trip to Bald Head Island, NC. Play continued the next day on Farmstead and Meadowlands courses in Calabash, NC.

North Carolina International Tee Party is the world’s largest international team event. The tournament will take place in November, 2010 marking it’s Twenty Third anniversary.

This Ryder Cup style event is a mixed competition for all handicaps hosted by “THE WINDS RESORT BEACH CLUB” just 20 minutes north of Myrtle Beach.

North Carolina International Tee Party Golf Tournament

A European Team of approximately 50 golfers will play for the 23rd consecutive year against an American Team of the same number over four competition days on some of the area’s finest courses for the North Carolina “Tee Pot” Trophy.

Competition takes place over four days on four of the area’s finest courses for the North Carolina “Tee Pot” Trophy. The week long event includes receptions, a mid week barbecue, an awards banquet and golf on some of the area’s finest courses.
